This is a pattern for fingerless mitts. They measure approximately 4- 5 inches from your thumb up your arm. They feature both a lace stitch pattern on your forearm, with a ribbing center on the underside for both shaping and a lack of slippage when worn. The focal stitch is both charted and written out ‘line by line“. The mitts also have a thumb gusset that will ensure the best fit, and allow you to text, type and knit in style and warmth at the same time. One size fits most, as a result of the lateral give, but tadjusting the needle size will give you the ability to make them slightly larger or smaller. These mitts are made using two circular needles, and two strands of lace weight yarn held together throughout the project.
They require under 1 skein of both yarns used. The one pictured here was made with under one skein of Handmaiden’s Merino Camel yarn, with one strand of carry lace weight yarn that’s comprised of mohair and silk, such as Kid Silk Haze or Knit Pick’s Aloft.
Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting , some experience with lace knitting. and knitting in the round.)
The mitts were expertly pattern tested by Leslie Shattes.
This pattern is available here on Ravelry.
