This hat is designed to fit the head of a man or woman of any age. The simple slipped-stitch cable technique moves color from the previous row into the active row, creating the illusion of vertical shaping simply by the manipulation of color. The more contrasting the colors are in the pattern, the greater the effect. The yarn was spun from a commercial Corriedale roving preparation.

Note that the pattern calls for a semi-worsted yarn (achievable through hand spinning) but a commercial worsted or hand spun worsted yarn is also effective.
