Galadriel the Betta Fish
Who doesn’t love betta fish? These spicy freshwater critters come in seemingly infinite fin variations and color patterns, and possess both a keen intelligence and playfulness.
This crocheted betta fish makes a perfect gift or window ornament! She was inspired by my very own betta fish, Galadriel. This pattern utilizes only single crochet stitches, single crochet increases, and single crochet decreases. You will make the basic shapes of the betta fish’s body, tail, and fins, and then sew them together! Altogether, this project can be completed in less than half a day!
I used blue and pink striped Red Heart Super Saver yarn, which has a gauge of 4” x 4” 12 SC by 15 rows with a 5.5mm (US I-9) crochet hook. However, since I used a 4 mm crochet hook (US G-6) for this pattern, the gauge may vary slightly from this recommendation.
