INFORMATION
This elegantly simple yet adorned with beautiful cabled details sweater, is an ode to my mother, Galina. She taught me much about life, including knitting. She is many things, all light and beautiful.
This sweater is knitted from the top down using a version of contiguous set in sleeve method. Once the shaping and increases are over, you get a break with a sea of stockinette. Following is an easy-to-memorize cable pattern that cinches the fabric in beautiful, soft pleats; and a long ribbed hem. The sweater is cropped, but adding length is simple (remember that this will alter your yarn yardage needs!). The slightly roomy sleeves are also adorned with a matching cable pattern, followed by long ribbed cuffs.
I designed this sweater with Camellia Fiber Company’s CFC Sylvan, which creates a light, airy fabric, and is undoubtedly part of the design. Choose a yarn that has a soft and light drape for the same look.
The cables in the body cinch the fabric and therefore make it less giving at the waist. Please make your choice in size looking at BOTH chest and waist circumference measurements. Instructions are also given on how to add 3-4” of ease at the waist, if needed.
