This cowl or scarf is knitted using 4 different gansey patterns, separated by ‘rigs’, or ridges of stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch.

The original was knitted in ColourMart Piuma 100% cashere, but both cowl and scarf can be knitted in any aran weight yarn.

Note that all patterns have the same stitch tension, but the row tension varies with the stitch pattern, and is not critical.
