Gansey Jumper by Di Gilpin

Gansey Jumper

This new design form Di Gilpin’s studio is only just finished with the written pattern yet to be completed.

Initally knit in the round using 2 strands of JC Rennie 4 ply then straight when you reach the pattern area which is also the beginning of the armhole. It would be very simple to convert to knit the front and back straight if you would prefer.

Starting with a basic rib followed by a stocking body the jumper is then patterned using tradiaitonal gansey ladder and rope stitches on the front back and arms. Finished off with a simple rolled neck also knit in the round.

Easy to knit this is a great introduction into gansey knitting and once sized correctly would make the idea unisex jumper. The patterned section of this jumper will be charted for simplicity.
