❤︎Introduction
The Gaon Vest takes its name from the pure Korean word “Gaon” meaning center, middle, and warmth.
Knit with soft 100% alpaca mohair yarn, it is an Aran-patterned vest that leaves a gentle warmth at the heart of winter.
Its cozy texture and clean stitch definition come together
to bring quiet warmth to the calm season.

The Gaon Vest is worked Top-down.
You will begin with the back shoulders, shaping them with short rows and
working down to the armholes.
The back stitches are then placed on hold, and stitches are picked up from
each shoulder to work the left and right fronts.
After joining the fronts with the back, the body is worked seamlessly in the round.
Finally, the ribbing on the front and back hem is worked flat separately,
with the back ribbing made slightly longer for a subtle detail. Ribbing around the armholes and V-neck completes the vest.
