Garden Gate is perfect for the beginner colourwork knitters, it features very simple stranded colourwork bands and stripes. The hat has a double layered brim knit in stockinette stitch and in stranded colourwork. The colourwork part uses 3 colours: a background colour, which can be your favourite neutral, a foreground colour for the diamond motifs, and a tiny amount of a 3rd colour is used as a pop.
The hat is meant to fit snugly, but it is easy to modify if you prefer a slouchier hat: choose a larger size and simply start the crown shaping later.
Please note that the colourwork pattern is charted only.
