This is a size inclusive, gender neutral crochet pattern.
This pattern is Intermediate (3★/out of 5) Level, but it is crochet level inclusive, presenting alteration to bring it down to Easy Level (2★/out of 5), and Beginner (1★/out of 5).
The pattern includes links to written and video tutorials for all the techniques in use.

Garden Ivy Vest overview:
The Garden Ivy Vest is the perfect piece to have in your wardrobe: with a t-shirt underneath is your best companion in spring, with a thick shirt it can be your cosy ally in cold winter days… and crochet it in cotton, and wear it in summer! Endless possibility to style it, and to crochet it! This is a tunisian crochet pattern that wants to win its place in any wardrobe: it does have a gender neutral cut, an opaque and drapey fabric, a time-less texture… and most importantly, it can be crocheted by tunisian crocheter of any level, being skill level inclusive.

Skill Level Option:
The intermediate skill level of this pattern comes from the use of short rows. Short rows are used to shape the shoulders. This technique is fully explained in the pattern, with additional support available through the linked video tutorials.
I truly believe anyone can learn this technique! However, if you’re not quite ready to tackle short rows yet, there are a couple of alternative options:
Easy: Skips the short rows. The presence of different stitches makes the pattern rated Easy level.
Beginner: Skips alternating different stitches.

Sizing:
The pattern comes in sizes XS(S,M,L, XL)(2XL,3XL,4XL,5XL)
You can check the sizing chart in pics for more details. There are also variations to add/remove length to the body and to the armhole depth.
Yarn&Yardage:
Sportweight yarn.
I used BC Garn Semilla GOTS in shade Grey 028 (50 g = approx 160 m, 100% organic wool)

Alternative Yarn
Hjertegarn Hjerte Alpaca (50 g = approx 167 m, 100% alpaca)
Du Store Alpakka Wool (50 g = approx. 166 m, 60% alpaca, 40% wool)
DROPS Belle (50 g = approx. 120 m, 53% Cotton, 33% Viscose, 14% Linen)
Yarn recommendation: Select yarn with similar yardage to get a vest with the same drape and coverage as in the sample. Yardage should be between 50 g = 120m to 180m. When picking your yarn, if you opt for acrylic, consider selecting a lighter yarn, i.e. higher yardage. If you select yarn with plant-based fibers (cotton, linen…) consider selecting a thicker yarn, i.e. lower yardage (as DROPS Belle above).

Yardage
704(768,872,1052,1052)(1244,1524,1744,1975) m
or 5(5,6,7,7)(8,10,11,13) skeins

Construction:
The Garden Ivy vest is worked bottom up in three panels. Each panel is shaped at the top to create shoulder slopes, armhole shaping, and a neckline. The panels are then sewn together at the shoulders and at the sides. Then, bottom hem, ribbing around the armholes, button bands and collar are added at the end, crocheted directly onto the vest.

Gauge:
Body: 10 cm x 10 cm in pattern (blocked) = 21 sts X 15 rows
Roughly 6 boxes in width X 5 boxes in height

Notions:
Needles, Tape measure, Stitch markers, Scissors, Blocking set.
For the version in pattern, you need 5 buttons (⌀=2 cm).

Hooks:
Body panels: 4.5 mm tunisian crochet hook with at least 60 cm cable/or 60 cm hook length - I recommend 80 cm
Ribbing: 4 mm regular crochet hook
