Gardening Hat
This is “Ken’s hat”, which was a simpler pattern for my husband, adapted to have a brim for me. It is cool and comfortable for the summer, shields your eyes from the sun and could be made brighter or decorated, but as it is it will do for gardening! The brim is made more stable by turning up at the edge, so it doesn’t flop – if you prefer floppy, just don’t put the turnup on it. It does cope with a bit of a rain shower.. As soon as I wore it, I was asked for one, so I was able to take a picture of the two. Could be made bigger, see pattern, but you might need a second ‘ball’ - each of mine used a whole one.
