In celebration of the season I have had my trusty hook trained on a few vampiric delights AND their deterrents! As such this pattern directs you to make one of the oldest and surest ways to keep the crocheted undead at bay, the GARLIC BULB! Um, err, you could also crochet a few for all of the avid home chefs in your life…But I digress!

The pattern utilizes size 10 crochet thread and a 1.5 mm hook. Now, as with all of my thread based patterns, sizing up is not a problem. Just use heavier weight yarn and a corresponding hook that will give you a fairly tight fabric. Your garlic bulb will be gigantic, but hey, I’m not going to judge you for wanting to crochet a larger than life bulb o’ garlic!

Directions use US crochet terminology and abbreviations and are appropriate for an experienced beginner and beyond. I will tell you that my patterns are written in a very traditional style. Meaning, if you can read a crochet pattern from the 1950’s or 1960’s, then you should have no problem reading in my patterns.

Show your love for hunting vampires, decorate your Halloween tree with garlic bulb ornaments or hey, just show your love for cooking with garlic! Whatever your purposes for choosing this pattern, start crocheting some garlic today!!
