Garri Cowl
The Garri Cowl is a soft, practical neck warmer inspired by cold Icelandic winter days. This knitting pattern is designed for everyday warmth, combining comfort, simplicity, and understated Nordic style in a versatile one-skein project.
In Icelandic, the word garri refers to a cold, biting wind — the kind that calls for soft layers and reliable wool accessories. The Garri Cowl was created as a compact alternative to a scarf or shawl: warm enough for harsh weather, yet light and practical enough for everyday use.
Worked in soft bulky yarn, the cowl is comfortable to wear under coats and jackets without unnecessary bulk. Folded double, it can also be worn as an ear warmer.
The simple construction and clean design make this an enjoyable and approachable project for knitters of many skill levels. A quick knit with timeless appeal.
