The Gashadokuro is a giant skeleton yokai from Japanese folklore. True to its name, it is said to attack people while making the eerie clattering sound of its bones—“gasha gasha.” I hope you enjoy this slightly thrilling knitting adventure!

CC: 20 (24) g, 85 (102) m / 93 (112) yds

Note: The amount of yarn used will vary depending on the length of sole and leg.

COLOURWAY: 2619 Tiefschwarz (MC) and 3081 Natur (CC) for size 1. 5436 Gauguins Stuhl (MC) and 2619 Tiefschwarz (CC) for size 2.

GAUGE

30 sts x 38 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm in st st, after blocking.
31 sts x 32 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm in colourwork, after blocking.

NEEDLE & NOTION

US 1.5 / 2.5 mm circular needles (at least 80 cm to work MagicLoop) or DPNs.

がしゃどくろは、日本の伝承に登場する巨大な骸骨の妖怪です。その名のとおり、「ガシャガシャ」と骨を鳴らしながら人を襲う恐ろしい妖怪として伝えられています。ちょっぴりスリリングな編み物をお楽しみいただけましたら幸いです。

□ つま先から編む、ダブルステッチを用いた引き返し編みのかかと（ジャーマンショートロー・ヒール）の靴下です。
