This pattern is for BOTH the sleeveless ribbed shell and the ponchette over top.
The shell is worked entirely one piece, circularly, separated at armholes, then rejoined at shoulder and neck.
The pochette is worked cuff to cuff, back and forth in rows. The central St st area is very loosely knit and slightly transparent.
The yarn specified is recommended in order to achieve the same effect, once blocked.
