♊Just like your favorite Gemini ♊, this Gemini Mitten knitting pattern is playful and dynamic. The twin on the left is curious and alert, the twin on the right is calm and thoughtful. The swirls are not only fun and engaging to knit up but are as bold and adventurous as the Gemini you are knitting for. Even better if its for yourself! The hardest part will be what colour you will want them to be.

This mitten pattern is knit from the cuff up, in the round with invisible thumbs and includes:

• Materials list, sizing, gauge
• Step by step instructions
• Cuff with or without Latvian braid options
• Full charts of both right and left mittens

Finished size is approximately 8.25”/21cm around and 11”/28cm long, a perfect fit for most women or teens

Materials used:

• Fingering weight yarn – 200m each Main colour / Contrast colour
• 2.5mm circular needles or DPNs

Skills required:
• Knitting in the round
• Reading a chart
• Stranded knitting with 2 colours
• Increasing and decreasing
• Kitchener stitch

Even if you are a beginner, mittens are fun and easy to knit up in a short time and make excellent DIY custom gifts. They are also an awesome stash-buster project as they are a great way to use up those one-of-a-kind, hand dyed skeins.

I chose black and white for the first sample for the greatest contrast and for the second pair of mittens used a light green background and self-changing dark greens for the contrast. As the pattern is fairly abstract, any 2 contrasting colors, or a solid paired with a multi–coloured skein would work equally well. Your Gemini mittens can be knit to suit their changeable mood.
