When I received this yarn, it was like instinct. Doing only a quick calculation in my head for the cast on, I started knitting, and the pattern emerged. I was struck by the movement in the pattern, and also how it was like I was looking through a series of windows that were studded with gemstones.

While the recommended yarn amount and repeats will give you a nice, single wrap cowl, the circumference is highly customizable. If you have enough yarn, you could even make a double wrap cowl for an even cozier option.

Finished Measurements: 7” (18cm) wide x 30” (76cm) circumference, lightly blocked.

Gauge: 29 stitches and 36 rows over 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch in the round, lightly blocked.

Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn: 100g (463yds / 423m) MC, and 6 CCs at 10g each.
This amount of yarn will knit a cowl of at least 5 repeats at gauge. A cowl with a larger circumference will need more yarn.

Needles: Size 4 (3.5mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle, plus another Size 4 circular needle (may be longer than 16”) or one size smaller.

The two circular method, or a circular long enough to do magic loop is also an option if 16” circs don’t work for you.

Extras: A crochet hook in similar size to your knitting needle, scrap yarn, stitch marker, 2 removable stitch markers, and a tapestry
needle.

Feel free to get creative with your yarn choices!

There are a total of 12 CC stripes per window section. While I have written this pattern to use 6 CCs at two stripes each, you can play with that number. You could choose 2, 3, 4, 6, or 12 different CCs and be able to knit an equal number of each.

If you want to use just one CC, a self striping or multicolor yarn would make a fun and interesting cowl!
