This design was inspired by the coat color of a brindle English Mastiff.
The variable-length socks use a combination of cables, simple lace, and ribbing to create a fur-like texture that complements the beautiful brown and tan colorway used in the design. The socks are worked cuff down and feature a flap heel. The pattern is easy to memorize and fun to knit, and you will simply love the end result!

The socks are designed to be 60 stitches around in the cuff and leg and 58 through the foot section, which should fit an average size female foot. Adjusting the needle size can yield a slightly larger or smaller circumference, or the stitch count can be modified to be larger or smaller (suggested for advanced knitters only!)

The socks require only a single 100g skein of fingering weight yarn; the sample socks took approximately 300 yds, adjusting the length of the cuff will modify the yardage required.

The design calls for 9” circular needles however these can also be knit two-at-a-time on magic loop or using DPNs if preferred.
