This quick, easy and cheap but striking crochet bag can be made from twine, string, cotton, jute, raffia or just about anything really! The bag in the photos has been made from 1.5mm jute twine with a 3mm crochet hook and measures 42cm wide by 36cm high but instructions are giving on how to increase or decrease your stitch count according to how big/small you want to make the bag which depends on which yarn and hook size you are using.

The bag is worked from bottom up and simply uses chains, double crochets and single crochets (US terms). There are clear and concise written instructions and also a chart for the pattern section if you prefer to work from a chart.

It’s the perfect beach bag for a day at the seaside, a perfect market bag for a day at the shops, or a perfect everyday bag that goes everywhere with you.

It would make a lovely gift for that special someone.
