Knitting Pattern for a Romantic Dress with a Fitted Top, a Decorative i-Cord-Bow, a Wide Skirt and i-Cord-Edgings in Sizes 1-2 | 2-3 | 3-4 (4-5 | 5-6 | 7-8) 9-10 | 11-12 | 13-14 years.

Structure:
The dress is worked top down in one piece in stockinette stitch. First of all, the back part is shaped back and forth in rows with increases to shape the armholes. Then, the front parts are worked separately at first to shape the round neck. After they are joined at the neckline, the front part is worked with armhole increases matching to the back part. Finally, back and front part are joined to the round and the upper bust part is worked in stockinette stitch in rounds for a few more centimeters, before it is casted off with an i-Cord-edging while working the decorative bow. Then, stitches are picked up again along the i-Cord- edging and increases are worked for the wide skirt. Now the body of the dress is finished in stockinette stitch in rounds. After casting off all stitches with an i-Cord-edging, the neckline and the armholes are finished with an applied i-Cord-edging.
The fit of the dress has a neutral or a little negative OR positive ease of up to 5 cm. This guarantees a comfortable fit around the upper bust. The increases to shape the skirt part of the dress provide enough space to move and play and create a breezy, summery and light garment. The cute bow, separating the upper dress part from the skirt part, is the highlight of the design and adds a romantic look to the simple design of the dress.

Level of difficulty: ambitious beginners to medium level of difficulty.

  • 3,5 mm circular knitting needles, 3,5 mm DPNs
