Gerda is the brave heroine of Hans Christian Andersen’s original fairy tale, The Snow Queen.

Inspired by the shimmer of freshly fallen snow, the Gerda Mittens combine a subtly sparkling fingering-weight yarn with the softness of mohair, held together throughout.

Simple and quick to knit, they are worked in the round from the ribbed cuff to the hand. A thumb gusset provides a comfortable fit, while a few rows of ribbing finish the hand.

A lovely little project for playing with texture, using a beautiful fingering-weight yarn from your stash, and adding just a touch of softness and sparkle to the first chilly days of the season.

Inspirées par le scintillement d’un tapis de neige fraîche, les Mitaines Gerda associent un fil fingering légèrement brillant à la douceur d’un fil de mohair, tricotés ensemble.

Simples et rapides à réaliser, elles se tricotent en rond, des côtes du poignet jusqu’à la main. Un gousset permet de former confortablement le pouce avant de terminer la main par quelques rangs de côtes.

Un joli petit projet pour jouer avec les matières, utiliser une belle laine fingering de votre stash et ajouter juste ce qu’il faut de douceur et d’éclat aux premières journées fraîches.
