I recommend short circular needles or DPN’s. However, you can knit this pattern two at a time, using either magic loop or two circular needles, however when doing so you will have a fiddly time when cables cross from front to back of work, use a movable stich marker or progress keeper through the loop to prevent gasp dropped stitches. You will need to wind into a cake to knit two at a time.
Yarn dyed in blanks can be a bit kinky, wavy and look not smooth, this completely blocks right out. Even with normal wearing the socks block out beautifully.
