• 17 sts x 8 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) 

Instructions for the gauge

Ch 24

• Row 1: sc 2nd ch from the hook and across. (23 sc sts)
• Row 2: ch 4 (counts as a st and ch 1), turn. Sk 1, tc in the next st, ch 1 across. At the end of the row make 1 tc in the last st and no ch 1.  (23 tc and ch 1 sts)
• Row 3: ch 1, turn. Sc across. When working into ch 1, work into the ch 1 sp. (23 sc sts)

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until row 12.

The gauge swatch is intentionally larger to ensure a more accurate stitch count.
