This light and lacy scarf incorporates the Fan and Feather Stitch, or more correctly known as the Old Shale Stitch. It’s a fun and easy pattern that results in a delicate and very pretty scarf.

The scarf is knit flat and worked side to side. Pattern provides both written and charted instructions and is perfect for those single (100 gram) skeins of fingering weight yarn. Pattern also offers instructions for how to modify the length of the scarf.

If you’re wanting a softer effect try adding a strand of mohair!
