This pattern is a recent one. I was looking for a fun way to decorate for Halloween but still make it with yarn.

And then came the idea to knit with a light yarn that would let light go through.

That’s how the ghost-o’ lantern is born.

Just to make sure, i have also knitted other ones with thicker yarn and even as an hanging ornament or a standing one, it is still so
adorable.

You can knit your own quite quickly, the knitting is faster than waiting for it to be blocked ;)

Techniques you will need : Intarsia, short row, sewing, blocking.

this pattern can easily be made with any yarn from you stash.
You will need :
• 50g white yarn
• 10g black yarn

The size of you finished object will vary depending on the yarn and needle you will choose.
If you want to create a lantern, use a light weight yarn and needle on the top of the recommended needle range. to hang it, i also recommend to use bigger needle to give it an airy texture, if you want it to stand on it’s own, a thick yarn and smaller needle will do it.
