This fun and quick crochet pattern makes for the perfect spring project.

The finished project measures 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide and deep.

This pattern is worked in the round, starting in the bottom of the egg and working up and around a styrofoam egg form. The egg must be inserted before finishing and working around it can be a little clumsy. I indicate where is best to insert the egg and leave it in and the more intricate stitches are finished by this point. This pattern only takes a few hours to complete and makes a great weekend project.

I created this pattern because of a conversation I had with a friend. She told me how she loves my fall pumpkin décor and kept one on her mantle into the winter months. She encouraged me to make something similar for the spring, but I wanted to do something new. Something simple and understated, but I was stumped. So, I sat down with some yarn and a styrofoam egg and this is what came out.
