This is a giant garter stitch scarf. A rectangle with a one row repeat. It is a pattern in the loosest sense of the word.

If you are looking for a bulky weight scarf with absurdly large proportions, this is YOUR scarf! Practically a blanket scarf. You cannot help but be warm while wearing it. It may cover most of your face.
I’m sharing it so you don’t have to really think too much about how much yarn you need or how many stitches. Sometimes we just need to mindlessly go about our knitting. Then bury ourselves in a gigantic plush scarf.

As written, this scarf will measure 12 inches by 87 inches. OVER 7 FEET LONG.
Using a single ply bulky yarn will be much lighter in weight than a plied yarn of the same weight. If you are not interested in using the sample’s 100% Acrylic Big Twist Static yarn, Malabrigo’s Mecha should be a suitable and luxuriously plush substitute.
If you don’t care about your scarf being 15 pounds (exaggeration), by all means use multiple multi-ply yarns together!

You’ll need:
520-524 yards of single ply bulky yarn.
Size 10/6mm AND Size 11/8mm knitting needles.
Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
