This kitty bed / cat basket is knit in the round on large circular needles, using the Magic Loop method. It can be worked from the centre outwards (bottom up), or from the outer rim downwards (top down). Both options are included in the pattern.

There are 2 sizes.
Small = diameter 28 cm / 11 inches diameter
Large = diameter 38 cm / 15 inches diameter.
Sides are approx. 15 cm / 6 inches high.

Any arm knitting yarn can be used, acrylic, wool or merino. Only 1kg / 50 m /55-60 yards of yarn is required.

Needles are 25mm / US size 50 circulars, min 32 inches long.

Arm knitting yarn usually states a needle size of 30-40mm, however we want a firm dense knit so we are using 25mm needles.

Cats seem to love the scent of wool or merino, but if you are allergic or vegan, there are lots of acrylic arm knitting / jumbo yarns in fabulous colours to choose from. I have included links to online suppliers.
