A gift-bag to keep and re-use. We’re knitters. We have stash. We have scraps. This adorable bag can go out into the world, spreading knitterly love, wherever it goes.

The bag is knit all in one piece, with i-cord handles. If made in wool, as shown, the finished bag can be fulled (slightly felted) by giving it a rub in hot soapy water. It’s an easy intermediate knit.

Three sizes are given in the pattern. You can easily change the size by changing the yarn, number of stitches and height worked.

Sizes
Easily adjustable.
All 3 sizes are 7cm/2 1/2” deep, from front to back.
XS 12.5cm/5” tall x 8cm/3” wide - holds e.g. an earrings box, or a credit-card style gift card, or some knitters notions…
S 14cm/5 1/2” tall x 10cm/4” wide - holds e.g. a couple of balls of yarn, or a larger jewellery box, or a scented candle, or a pair of hand-knit socks…
M 21cm/8” tall x 16.5cm/6 1/2” wide - holds e.g. novels, or a couple of skeins of yarn, or a box of candy, or some toiletries…

Or…adjust it to make the size you need: The base is made first, so you can adjust that to the size you want, then work upwards to the height you need. The felting/fulling is minimal; you’re not aiming to shrink it, so it’s easy to control the finished size.
