This little cardigan and shorts suit is easy to knit and suitable for beginners as the instructions are clearly written.

The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up (all in one piece to the armholes) and the fronts and back have very simple armhole decreasing.
The Shorts are knitted from the waist down with work divided for the two legs.

I have introduced two textured patterns which are very effective and very easy to remember.
I try to aim all my patterns to novice knitters to give them confidence in their ability to produce well made baby garments….but I find my patterns quick to knit for babyshowers/ or gifts.

So with this pattern the two textured patterns are good to have in your stitch library, to add a bit of variety to otherwise plain knits.
