This pattern was available for free with sock yarn purchase at Fall 2018 festivals in the Bayou City Yarn Co./Shipwrecked Sheep booths. It’s available for purchase as a digital download here on Ravelry.

These socks were designed while I was inspired by a massive lace & cable pattern that I found in a book and I really liked the little slatted lace section that went in one bit of it. I condensed it down, took out a few rows, and created it for this sock pattern. When I’d finished the leg of the sock, it made me think of gills, like a fish has, and since my original prototype was knitting them for an Under the Sea themed knit-along, it felt right!
