Since it’s quite difficult to track down the original Sport Weight Rambouillet from Knitted Wit Yarns these days, I suggest using Recollect Sport from the Farmers Daughter Fibers for these mitts.

The Ginger Beer Mitts came out of the Lantern Moon Retreat, as I went to teach and wanted to design with yarn from a local dyer. Lorajean Kelly’s sport weight Rambouillet in this color was just so fun, that I wanted gold medallions on my hands.

I decided to play with ribs, cables AND lace on these. The medallion motif that moves from one side of the hand to the other, and the stockinette and ribbed sections play off of one another. As with most of my patterns, the motif is simpler than you think - so it’s fun to knit and quick enough that you can work on them for a few nights and be wearing them by next week.

Sizes
7.5(8,8.5)”/19(20.25,21.5)cm circumference
around wrist, and 11”/28cm deep from top to bottom
edge on all sizes.

Yarn
Mitts require about 200 yds/183m of sport weight yarn.

By size, I’d suggest:
175(185,200)yds/
160(170,183)m
