This versatile pattern is fun to make and efficiently uses small amounts of yarn! This is a nice 3-in-1 + 1 pattern perfect for getting in the holiday spirit. The Gingerbread Bunny (which can be made as an applique, a brooch, or a two-sided ornament) is sporting a tiny Christmas Bauble (2.5 cm or 1 inch in diameter).

The pattern requires only a total material yardage of about 13 m (14 ½ yd) for the applique and 23 m (25 ½ yd) for the ornament or brooch. The techniques are basic: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increases & decreases, foundation chain and magic ring.

It has been a challenge to design the body symmetrical and many a notebook pages have been discarded. However, the result is gratifying, as the two sides follow the same pattern while only alternating work on the right/wrong sides!

The leftover yarn can turn into the micro Christmas baubles matching the colour of Bunny’s bowtie and the overall size of the Bunny.
Enjoy!
