The tutorial has several suggested cast on methods, too in part 3

This pattern was (is) on my blog, and was posted here as a pattern in May of 2007.

I have an improved pattern on my web page, but it is still a very terse set of instructions rather than a full pattern, and it is part of my Double Knitting tutorial. (part 4)

The chart was made by PMKnitter, not by me, but i have added it, (and thank her for her work) if it is helpful to you, thank her.

Gauge is not critical, since all sizes of potholders work, and i suggest shrinking the potholder as part of finishing it.. (It is hard to knit cotton tightly, I don’t suggest you try--knit it a some what loose gauge, and shrink to firm up fabric!)

Potholder can be made in cotton and also be made in wool, either knit firmly (a bit easier to do with wool) or fulled (felted) as part of the finishing.
