Girl with the Pearl Earring
This pattern is for a full Tapestry of Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring. This tapestry will eat yarn like a hungry hungry hippo and it would be a great stash buster project.
I did say you needed 800-1000 yards for this pattern but that is just a shot in the dark. I did not keep track of all the yarn I used for this project because I quite frankly could not be bothered. Use what you have from your stash and buy what you need. Aside from the background black I didn’t use the entire skein of any color listed in the pattern, so do with that information what you will.
I found that I did use almost a whole skein of Red Heart Super Saver Black yarn just for the tapestry alone, so you may want to buy a big skein of that to be prepared and have the right color black all throughout.
This is an ADVANCED pattern that uses approximately 30 different colors, some are spliced so you may have to cut 2 lengths of different yarn, divide into two strands, combine colors, and crochet with this new spliced color to get the exact shade. If you can find a color that is the exact shade without splicing, please do so, but that is how I did this pattern.
The pattern will include hex codes for every color used and some will have suggested brands/colors to buy that will be a close if not exact match. Don’t sweat it if you find a color that is almost the color you need. Color theory is both a blessing and a curse, but it will work out well in this pattern. When in doubt, color theory it.
