This shawl was inspired by my trip to Glacier Bay several years ago. I found this wonderful yarn at a shop in Juneau, and after seeing the glacier, I knew exactly what to do with it. Every time I wear it, I remember my trip.

The shawl is made in 3 sections:

  1. The center portion is worked from end to end, then you bind off.
  2. On the long edge, you pick up sts, and work the Seed Stitch curved section sideways from top to bottom. It is not bound off.
  3. After the last row of Seed Stitch, you pick up stitches around the entire edge of the shawl and work the border perpendicularly around the outer edge.
