ABOUT THE PATTERN:
Glatz sweater! The perfect sweater for him, her, and them! Customize the sweater as you go to fit perfectly for the wearer - and enjoy the process :smile: The sweater is knit from the bottom up. Start with ribbing, then switch to stockinette stitch for the rest of the body. Divide the work into two parts, front and back. While knitting back and forth over these parts, decrease towards the sleeves at the beginning, so the sweater fits well to the body and does not bunch up under the arms. Eventually, divide the front and decrease for the neck. The back is knit to the same length as the front before binding off and sewing the shoulders together. Bind off the shoulders while sewing them together - I use the 3-needle bind off method, but you can also seam them at the top. Here you can find good instructional videos for both techniques on YouTube. Pick up stitches for both the neck and sleeves as described in the pattern. Remember to measure the person who will wear the sweater and use those measurements instead of the size division. It’s easy to adjust the length of the body and sleeves to the recipient - and then you’ll have a garment you’re more satisfied with.

GAUGE: 15 STITCHES / 22 ROWS = 1010 CM. Remember to knit a gauge swatch before starting. If you have too many stitches per 10 cm, try using a larger needle size, if you have too few stitches, switch to a smaller needle size.

4.5 mm (circular needle 80 cm + optional double-pointed needles if not using magic loop) for ribbing

Sleeves: 51 (51) 52 (52) cm (if you want longer sleeves, knit more rounds of ribbing).
