Banded with a tartan pattern in Stuart colors to memorialize Scotland’s Bonnie Prince Charlie. A traditional cap, or “bonnet,” of the Highlanders, similar to modern US Army caps. Worked in the round from the sideband to the center top, with some shaping by short rows, then joined with Kitchener stitching at the top (to imitate a center fold). Requires about 109 yds of 2 contrast color yarns for tartan band (white and red on blue cap).
