The Glisten Triangle Shawl is really easy to knit and yet it makes a big statement. It’s the perfect little wrap for an evening out on the town and it brings a little sparkle to even the simplest outfit.

The pattern is nothing more than a knit triangle with fringe. It’s a project that is easy enough for even new knitters, but knitters of all skill levels will like the result.

Materials Needed

  • 6 skeins Louisa Harding Glisten (in black or the color of your choice) or about 560 yards of your favorite medium weight shimmery yarn
  • One pair size 8 US knitting needles (a circular needle is great for this project)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Ruler or fabric measuring tape
  • Crochet hook

For this pattern, the gauge is not critical because the garment doesn’t need to be a specific size. Use the needles that produce the most pleasing gauge for your yarn and knitting style.

This shawl pattern is worked from the bottom up. It is one of the easiest ways to create a triangle shawl because you will simply increase on each end of the knit rows. The nice thing about patterns like this is that you can continue repeating the rows until the wrap is exactly the size you want it to be. It’s very versatile and a pattern you can use with all types of yarn to produce completely new looks each time.
