The perfect beginner sock pattern! Complete with full video tutorial to walk you through knitting these socks. This easy, cuff down sock pattern is perfect for everyone. The instructions are written for 3 different gauges (28, 32, & 36 sts per 4”) and 5 size options for each gauge so you can completely customize this pattern for whoever you are knitting these socks for. The pattern is written for the magic loop method worked cuff down with a heel flap and gusset heel method.

NEEDLES
32” - 40” cable needles that allow you to match gauge. I suggest sizes US 00, US 0, or US 1
Sample uses US 1 (2.25 mm) 40” needles

YARN
Fingering weight yarn, the yardage heavily depends on the size you make and the length of your foot so I estimate 300-400 yards of yarn. A single skein of at least 400 yards should be more than enough to make a pair for most sizes.

GAUGE
28, 32, and 36 sts per 4” (10 cm)
The pattern is written for 3 gauges, and 5 sizes per gauge. Find the gauge that gives you the fabric that you like and then pick a size based off of that. The pattern has a lot of instruction for how to choose a size.

SIZING
The pattern has instructions for how to make socks with a circumference ranging from as small as 5.25” (13.5 cm) all the way to 11.5” (29 cm) with plenty of sizes in between.

The foot length is completely customizable for your foot size, and I link to a resource that lists foot lengths for common sizes so if you’re gift knitting you can get all the info you need with this pattern.
