Gnorse and his sister Gnilla are nisses or tomtes or to me gnomes.

When worked in Aran/Worsted Weight they measure 21 inches/53cms from top to toe (not including hats); when worked in Double Knit/Light Worsted Weight they measure 19 inches/48cms (not including hats).

Any yarn works, but keep it all the same weight for each gnome. Suggested yarn for Gnilla’s hair would be a faux fur, King Cole Luxury Fur or James C Brett Faux Fur work very well. Eyelash yarn for Gnorse’s beard works really well. I used Schachenmayr Brazilia.

As Gnorse and Gnilla are “shelf sitters” I used poly pellets to weight them, full directions are included in the making up guide. If Gnorse and Gnilla are to be toys there is no need to weight them, just stuff as you would normally stuff a toy.

Gnorse and Gnilla are knitted flat and assembled, full directions with photos are included in this pattern. I used mattress stitch throughout simply because the feet and legs are a fiddle to turn.
