Go with the Flow Sweater
This modern textured crochet sweater pattern is designed for intermediate and advanced crocheters who love rich texture, sculptural details, and seamless top-down crochet projects. Made with thick, warm blown tube yarn, this sweater pairs beautifully with both modern and classic wardrobes, becoming an everyday staple through the colder months. The top-down construction lets you adjust the body length, sleeve length and width as you go. The fit is naturally comfortable and stretchy, it even works wonderfully as a men’s crochet sweater, offering ease around broader shoulders.
The pattern includes several customization options for sleeves and body. The circular yoke (neckline to armholes) is fully written for sizes S–2XL and supported by charts and videos, from armholes to bottom you will need to follow crochet charts.
Differences with my first Go with the Flow Sweater:
- The wavy pattern on the sleeves can be worked from the shoulders to the bottom as featured, or you can alternate 2 stitches down to wrists.
- The gauge differs because this version uses a thicker yarn.
- This sweater is made without cuffs or the bottom edging, so no contrasting yarn is needed.
Please feel free to contact me if you have finished this sweater, posted photos of your finished piece on Ravelry and/or social media mentioning me as the designer and I’ll be most happy to send you the download link for this sweater pattern as well.
The PDF on 23 pages includes:
► written row-by-row instructions in ENGLISH,
► schematics, photos of tricky parts,
► colorful charts,
► links to helpful videos that show how to crochet all stitches, increase the yoke, separate body and sleeves, etc.
This sweater crochet pattern is provided for sizes:
S/M with bust/hip circumference 87-94 cm = 34-37’’
M/L with bust/hip 96-104 cm = 38-41’’
L-XL with bust/hip 106-115 cm = 42-45’’
XL-2XL with bust/hip 117-127 cm = 46-50’’.
If you need more ease for hips, add more stitches along the sides of your sweater.
Yarn: Thick DK weight or Worsted/Aran weight (category 4: Medium) wool blends with a fluffy soft texture. Approx. 220 m = 240 yds per 100 gr. Total yarn usage is 1565 - 1900 yards (1430 - 1740 m).
Choose soft yarn with the tube-like structure. Blown tube yarns have no twist, they don’t split and are less likely to pill. This structure allows the yarn to be lightweight, breathable and durable. Hence, your garments created with blown tube yarns are lighter than those made with conventional spun yarns of the same thickness.
