With this design, the adult goat’s body has an internal pocket which opens to reveal a kid inside!

This pattern is 16 pages long and includes the instructions for both the goat and her kid. It contains loads of photos to help you every step of the way and is written in English, using American crochet terms.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used James C Brett Aztec Aran (equivalent to worsted weight) and my finished goat measures approx 20cm tall and 26cm long.

You will need to choose colours for the following sections:

Main Body Colour - I used cream (approx. 156m),

Hooves & Horns - I used beige (approx. 25m).

Udder - I used pink (approx. 3.5m).

The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide.

You will also need:

A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.

Toy stuffing.

Finer yarn or embroidery thread for adding the facial details (I used black & dark pink).

A pair of 6mm black eyes.

2 press studs (also called snap fasteners) for fastening the goat’s body. I used 7mm clear plastic ones.

A brush for making your yarn fluffy - I used a wire pet slicker brush (this step is optional).

Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and a stitch marker. You will also need a needle and thread for attaching the fasteners.
