This pattern is for double bed machines, including Japanese, Passap and Superba. The blanket portion is knitted in double bed tuck using a thin yarn such as 2/24. The pillow is knitted with fingering weight yarn using single bed fairisle. Alternate gauges are given so that other yarns and machines may be used. Heart designs for both Passap and Japanese machines are included although they will look different in other gauges, of course.

This pattern is part of an entire book called “Kangaroo Covers” on knitting blankets that fold neatly into their own pouches, becoming pillows. All machines are included in the book. “Going Places” is sized to be a comfortable travel blanket and pillow.
