Goldrush is the kind of shawl that keeps you wondering what’s coming next. Worked from the top down in a crescent shape, it combines three colours with changing sections that give you just enough variety to keep your hands interested without making the knitting feel complicated.

I designed Goldrush for those times when you want something engaging to knit, but you don’t want to spend your whole project trying to figure out what comes next. Each section brings a little something different, so there’s always another detail to look forward to as your shawl grows.

Choose three colours that make you happy, settle in with your needles, and enjoy watching them come together. Whether you love bold contrasts or prefer a softer, more subtle palette, Goldrush gives you plenty of room to make the finished shawl your own.

This versatile shawl knitting pattern is worked flat from the top down, creating a beautifully draped crescent shape with a clean, elegant finish. Designed for fingering weight yarn, the pattern flows through distinct sections that build texture and visual interest as your shawl grows.

Written instructions are provided throughout, along with charts for the pattern motifs and a shaping schematic to guide you through each stage—so you can choose the format that works best for your knitting style.

The finished dimensions create generous coverage and elegant drape while remaining lightweight and wearable.

To support you every step of the way, you’ll also have access to a curated resource page featuring yarn substitution ideas, a progress tracker, and a helpful technique playlist—everything you need to cast on with confidence and finish with pride.
