Goliath Beetle Gloves
Goliath beetles completely live up to their enormous name. Even their chonky big grub stage is the stuff of nightmares. Luckily they don’t stay terrifyingly gross and grow up to be the world’s largest and most distinctive beetles. I’ve never seen a live one as I’ve never been to an African rainforest but maybe if I’m lucky an opportunity will present itself. African bug safari! Sounds like fun don’t you think? Until that happens I can still knit and wear these elegant Goliath beetle gloves…
This pattern is recommended for knitters with experience with knitting in the round, reading charts and working in stranded colorwork. I used white and black for my first sample glove and red and black for my second sample and duplicate stitched the beetle white. The pattern uses fingering weight yarn and 2.25mm needles.
