Named after the Golta peninsula on the island of Flotta, Orkney, this jacket uses patterns found in Orkney ganseys.

The jacket has half gussets (ie gusset on the sleeves only) and straight sleeves. Sleeve and body length are easily adjustable.

Materials
1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) cones Frangipani 5 ply wool
3 and 3.5 mm (US 2 and 4) needles
3 buttons, about 1 ins / 25 mm in diameter

Tension
24 sts and 32 rows to 4 ins over pattern on 3.5 mm needles after washing and blocking. (One pattern repeat of 27 sts measures 4.5 ins wide.)
