This googly-eyed, feather friend cup cozy was inspired by the Rhode Island Reds on my son’s farm. I’m not sure if it is because they are eco-friendly, a way to make a personal statement or because they are just so darn practical, but cup cozies are the latest craze catching on like a hot toddy on a cold night.

They keep your drinks, warm or cool, or can decorate any container in the house as you will see the picture for the crochet hook jar one of my pattern testers used for hers. I am always looking for ways to reduce candy for my grandchildren at holiday time so I have paired mine with a DIY mason jar cup that they love. Fill the jar with Easter candy or a hot chocolate bomb and you have a quick gift for anyone.

The pattern includes plenty of pictures to give clear illustrations of each step as well as a link to my youtube tutorial for the invisible join and chainless half double crochet technique used in this make.

It can be whipped up quickly for last minute gift giving at any time or maybe you just need the Googly-Eyed Chicken Cup Cozy to enjoy yourself.
