When my son was small, he loved a song that Bruce Springsteen did on a charity album of children’s songs. It was about chicken lips, lizard hips and alligator eyes, all ingredients in a concoction called “Mama’s Soup Surprise” He loved it so much, I designed a lizard sweater for him. All these years later, knitting for my nephew’s children, I was told that I couldn’t go wrong with Tools, Animals or Dinosaurs. I graphed out the lizard, but the lizard needed a name. A hard “G” that sounded tough…Gregory? too nice; George? no hard “G”; Gordon? Yes!!! It wasn’t until I said it together that I realized it was nearly the name of an unscrupulous financier from a famous movie. Spelled differently of course. Since my TOOL TIME HAT is a big hit with adults, Gordon comes in Infant, Child & Adult sizes….(Child pictured above)
