Gossamer
Despite the intricate appearance, Gossamer is a surprisingly quick knit. The delicate lace may look fancy, but it’s just yarn overs and simple decreases on garter stitch. And no purling!
You work this crescent-shaped shawl from the top down with only one skein of fingering weight yarn. The wide lace border steals the show, and the picot bind-off adds the final touch.
Gossamer is proof that lace doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful.
YARN
One skein of Lichen and Lace 1ply Superwash Merino Fingering (100% merino wool; 366 m / 400 yds per 100 g). Shown in color Linen.
Or approximately 366 m / 400 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.
NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size to obtain pattern gauge
Although you work this shawl flat, I recommend using 80–100 cm / 32–40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
