Gothic Snowman
Crochet pattern describes the creation of snowman amigurumi with a wire frame inside arms. For the stability of the toy, a circle made of cardboard is inserted into the base.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Magic ring, Crochet in rounds, Single crochet, Double crochet. Increasing, Decreasing, Floating loops, Slip stitch, Seamless color change in crochet rounds.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.
Measurements:
Approx. 14 cm (5.5’’) tall.
MATERIALS:
Bulky (7wpi) yarn (ALIZE Softy). Color: White. You will need about 0.7 oz.
Fingering weight acrylic yarn. Colors: Black, White, Brown.
Black yarn for embroidering the mouth.
Crochet hooks: 2.5mm (for body), 1.75mm (for hat and scarf).
Fiberfill stuffing.
Needle, thread (color of the main yarn) for sewing parts.
For eyes: Buttons - 2 ps.
Thin wire Ø 0.02’’ about 48’’. For arms you can use chenille stems (pipe cleaners) instead wire.
Adhesive plaster or masking tape, about 10’’.
Thick cardboard or thin plastic for the “bottom” of the toy and of the hat.
Polymer glue.
Scissors, pins, stitch markers.
Stitches Used:
The pattern is written in US terminology.
ch - Chain;
sc - Single crochet;
inc - Increase (2 sc in same stitch);
dec — decrease (2 sc together);
dc - Double crochet;
sl st — slip stitch.
